Document apostille in Senegal and abroad

Since March 2023, Senegal has applied the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961: a Senegalese public document bearing an apostille is recognised in the other member states without going through an embassy. In Senegal, apostilles are issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We prepare your file, have anything that needs certifying or translating done, and submit the document for you. Does my destination country accept apostilles?

Only if it is a party to the Hague Convention. Otherwise the document must be legalized by the ministry and then by that country's embassy or consulate, which we also handle.

Should the original or the translation be apostilled?

It depends on the country: sometimes the original, sometimes the translation, sometimes both. We check the exact requirement before we start.

Can you apostille a US or French document for use in Senegal?

Yes. The apostille must be issued by the country that issued the document; our local network obtains it and we deliver the document to you in Senegal.
